The world's longest span arch bridge, the Beipanjiang Bridge in China, has recently opened to traffic. The bridge spans 496 meters (1627 feet) and is located in the mountainous region of Guizhou Province in southern China. It connects the cities of Liupanshui and Bijie and is expected to greatly improve transportation in the area. The construction of the bridge took four years and cost $380 million. The Beipanjiang Bridge is not only an engineering marvel but also a testament to China's continued investment in infrastructure development.
